I was unable to respond right away due to being busy, but when I followed up to apologize and try to continue the conversation professionally, the other person became rude and dismissive. I understand delays can be frustrating, but there was no reason for the hostility. A little patience and respect go a long way, and this kind of response felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
