Used Hyundai Cars for Sale in Singapore
Hyundai was founded in 1967. Its first car was a licensed copy of the Ford Cortina and was launched in 1968. They attempted the construction of their first native car in 1975, a result of input from British engineers.
In the late 1990s, Hyundai repositioned itself as a world-class automaker. It's the acquisition of Kia around the same time period certainly helped contribute to that progress; with greater resources and platforms under their belt, the continued development led Hyundai to cement its reputation locally as a legitimate contender for quality, reliable cars in the noughties!
Used Hyundai Car Models:
Hyundai has 5 models in its lineup for the Singapore market.
Its compact saloon, the Avante, has won accolades from both local and international motoring publications. Its striking styling, and its 1.6-litre engine, makes for a bold but dependable daily driver. Prices for the 2021 Avante start from just $94,000.
The i30 is next up to the Hyundai food chain. You can have your i30 in hatchback or wagon form, depending on your needs. Both cars come equipped with a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine coupled to a 7-speed DCT transmission. The hatchback has a maximum boot capacity of 1,300 litres, with the wagon offering an extra 350 litres for a cavernous 1,650 litres! Prices start at $104,000 for the hatchback and $107,000 for the wagon.
The Ioniq and Kona duo are up next. These vehicles offer a unique, and more eco-friendly spin, on the traditional compact saloon and CUV respectively. Designed to rival the Toyota Prius, Hyundai has since re-engineered the chassis to be capable of being a no-compromise, pure EV in the form of the Ioniq and Kona Electric. If you aren’t quite ready to give up petrol just yet, the Kona/Ioniq is also available as a traditional hybrid. Regardless of the source of propulsion, these cars have more than taken on the mantle as dependable and reliable cars with a decent range - taxi companies and private hire drivers alike have since adopted these vehicles for business use! The most affordable Ioniq Electric can be had for $140,000, with the hybrid variant going for slightly less at $110,000. The EV Kona will set you back $141,000, and the hybrid $113,000!
The Venue is the smallest SUV you can buy in Hyundai’s lineup. It combines funky, youth-centric styling, with a tried and true 1.6-litre engine for a really appealing package indeed. Pricing is palatable too, at just $98,000.
The Tucson is one class up from the Venue. The nameplate itself is also more established than the Venue and is clearly targeted at a different group of buyers. No funky styling here; the Tucson is reserved, understated, with cues lifted from Hyundai’s more upmarket Genesis brand. All the extra class and kit will cost you more than what Hyundai is asking for its Venue too - prices for the Tucson start at $147,000.
Finally, Hyundai’s halo car is the Palisade. The full-sized SUV is a true sight to behold and is definitely a statement of intent aimed at its rivals. Its road presence is undeniable and is a car you should consider if you were originally intending to go with an offering from a German automaker. Its tag of $218,000 should give you a hint as to who Hyundai was trying to pursue when designing the Palisade!
